If you’ve come this far, you’ll know that Excel Scotland designs and builds bespoke homes in the north east of Scotland – Moray, Aberdeenshire and Inverness. As our business continues to grow we have two new full-time roles to fill; an experienced Bookkeeper and Administrator and a Brand and Marketing Manager. Both positions are based from our new offices in Elgin, Moray.
Experienced Bookkeeper and Administrator
You will be responsible for bookkeeping and administrative tasks for two businesses – Excel Scotland and ESL Investments Ltd.
Responsibilities include – but not restricted to:
General Bookkeeping Tasks:
- Logging Supplier Invoices, Customer Invoices and all Expenses in Quick Books
- Reconciling monthly Supplier Payments
- Paying Suppliers monthly and logging corresponding payments in Quick Books
- Reconciling monthly Bank Account Statement (Current Account and Credit Card)
- Making monthly payments to HMRC for NI and CIS
- Submitting monthly VAT returns
Payroll:
- Running Fortnightly and Monthly Payroll
- Paying all Employees
- Calculating and submitting Fortnightly and Monthly Pensions
Construction Industry Scheme (CIS):
- Verifying new Sub Contractors through HMRC
- Paying Sub Contractor Invoices
- Logging Sub Contractor Invoices in Quick Books
- Completing Monthly CIS Submissions
- Completing Monthly CIS statements for Sub Contractors
ESL:
- Setting up new customers
- Monitoring monthly payments and chasing payment if needed
- Reconciling bank account monthly
Must have:
- Good interpersonal skills
- At least one years’s experience in a bookkeeping role
- At least one years’ experience using Quick Books Online, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel
- Organised and capable of meeting numerous monthly deadlines
- Valid driving licence

Brand and Marketing Manager
The brand and marketing manager will create, manage and implement marketing objectives (traditional, digital and social media).
Responsibilities include – but not restricted to:
- Overall responsibility for managing all marketing initiatives, including promotion, sponsorships and events.
- Develops detailed marketing plans for all channels and sales teams.
- Develops and maintains the Excel Scotland brand and its use for all touch points.
- Prepares content and oversees the creative development of promotional materials, website content, advertisements, social media communication and other marketing-related projects
- Communicates with various media buyers, advertising agencies, printers and other services to help marketing projects come to fruition
- Works within the budget to develop cost-effective and creative marketing plans for promotion of services
- Tracks all marketing and sales data, including website and social media analytics, and able to present detailed written reports and verbal presentations to management
- Develop content strategy aligned with short-term and long-term marketing targets
- Ensure compliance with law (e.g. copyright and data protection)
- Stay up-to-date with trends and generate new ideas to draw audience’s attention
Must have:
- At least five years’ experience, perferably in a Marketing Manager, Digital Marketing Manager and/or Content Manager role.
- Hands on experience with CMS systems, preferably WordPress
- Experience of managing platforms and reporting on social media performance, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube
- Basic technical knowledge of HTML and web publishing
- Knowledge of SEO and web traffic metrics
- Excellent writing skills in English
- Attention to detail
- Good organisational and time management skills
